Elizabeth’s Lullaby

In 1994 I started writing what I envisioned would be a rock opera called “Elizabeth’s Lullaby.” It was loosely-based on a friend of mine whose life always seemed on the verge of caving in. I was both fascinated and jealous of the delicious tumult she was spinning in. I felt dull next to her and strangely wished that I could be more dysfunctional. I recorded only one song from the project, and lost interest shortly after.

This song is awesome, Crystal. It was one of my favorites off of a tape you gave me alooooong time ago. Hope you are doing well! – Ed

Hey Ed! Good to hear from you. Wish I had a recording of … what was your band’s name? Deep throat burrito or something?

Deep Throat Burrito? Wow… That’s a hell of a name. We weren’t a real band, but that sounds like something we would have come up with. Raised on Beavis and Butthead and warm beer stolen out of a random neighbor’s garage! Seriously though… I really liked your tape (1994 I think?). I was very impressed. I played it for my a lot of my friends down here. A girl I dated in high school absolutely loved it.

Did you know Ryan Overland passed away in 2016? I just found out. So very sad. This was the only way I knew to contact you.
