Piano Cravings

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been trying to record a few songs using my Casio keyboard as a midi controller for piano software instruments. This process makes me ache for my real piano. It currently resides at my mother’s house which is two hours away. It’s an old, upright with keys that stick, ivory that’s chipped, a body that’s worn, and it’s never been tuned. I miss it so much. The piano is one of humankind’s greatest creations.

I recorded this song on that piano in 2005. I had no idea how to mic the thing, and I slathered on too many effects (as usual) but it still sounds better to me than what I have to work with now.

Won’t Listen
