Helio

This song actually spans over a decade of my life. Yikes.

I first developed the melody on piano when I was 20-years-old.

I wrote the lyrics when I was 26.

And last week, at the age of 32, I finally recorded it.

I can’t say, exactly, what the significance of this song is or why it has clung so stubbornly to me for all these years. I also don’t know why I didn’t record it earlier (certainly having those capabilities at different points along this vast timeline.)

I’ve definitely forgotten more songs than I’ve remembered/recorded, but even the forgotten ones were necessary exercises in this never-ending, real-life soundtrack. But for some reason this one fused to me, so I’ve finally responded to its longevity by recording it.
