Last weekend my dad, Shawn Hickox, and his portable recording studio visited us at our new place in Portland, OR. He recorded three Heart Lake Owl songs in the comfort of our living room. I absolutely love taking my hands off the controls and focusing on simply playing the songs. What a relief it is! He did an excellent job and the finished recordings are rich and warm and perfect in their simplicity. Here’s one of them:
